Join the USCC in a Civil War Chapel service while on your trip to Gettysburg. Located just one block off the square in Gettysburg it is close to everything and parking is free on Sunday!
We built this chapel based on research and writings from soldiers that described the chapels they helped to build. Experience an important part of a Civil War soldiers life, his faith and reliance on God. After the battle of Gettysburg, there were chapel services in the fields, the camps, the hospitals and held every Sunday on the “Diamond”.
Continue the tradition of prayer in this special town! All are welcome!!

“We were gathered in one of those chapels, which the Christian Commission had built, numbering one hundred and forty throughout the army. The logs were piles one upon another… over the whole is thrown what the soldiers call a “Fly” which is a piece of canvas covering the tent.”
Rev. J.T Duryea describing a visit to the Army of the Potomac-March 15, 1865.
